Apologizing in Advance.

Hey Baby Girl...

Your dad and I were talking the other day about how dorky we are together and how one day suddenly you're going to stop thinking we're funny and think we are the single most embarrassing parents on the face of this earth. You might even beg to trade us in for new ones. We talked about the random dance parties we have and will continue to have at home... totally spontaenous dancing wherever, however, whenever the urge hits us. You'll quickly learn music is a powerful force, overtaking you sometimes in ways you absolutely can't control. In ways that cause you to lose all inhibition or concern of what others around you think about your moves. And we certainly don't. But oh man, do we have fun!!
I have to warn you though that your dad is an especially awesome dancer, that no matter the genre of music playing, I can ask him "How would you dance to this?" and without hesitation, he'll bust into the most wild and unique motions you've ever seen! Oh baby, he makes me laugh!! Sometimes I think I might explode from laughing so hard.
We imagined how one day you might have friends over to the house and maybe we even talked about trying to show your friends how amazing our dance moves truly are... I can't promise we won't embarrass you, in fact I can assure you we absolutely will... but I can promise you'll never have to wonder if your dad and I love one another.

I can't promise we won't ever fight or get on each other's nerves, but I can promise we will always work hard to get through it. I can't promise we won't embarrass you in front of your friends, but I can promise you we will strive to create a home full of love that your friends always want to come back to. And I can't promise there won't be stressful times, but I can promise in the midst of those times there will always be room for dancing and hysterical laughter.
One day when you're older, I promise you'll see that as embarrassing as we were, we LOVED each other, had FUN together and are truly each other's best friend. I can absolutely 100% without a doubt promise you that, baby girl.

xoxo,
Mama
